About Foxon Lube & Tire

Located at 310 Foxon Blvd, New Haven, CT 06513, Foxon Lube & Tire operates as an oil change service serving New Haven in Connecticut. This page gathers the practical details people usually look for before visiting: where it is, how to reach it, when it opens and how customers rate it.

In New Haven, shops are busiest on Monday mornings and before holiday weekends, so a mid-week appointment gets a car seen faster. Labor rates across Connecticut vary by neighborhood and by shop type, from small independents to dealership service bays, and mobile mechanics now cover many routine jobs in the driveway. Before authorizing a repair, ask for the estimate in writing, whether the shop warranties parts and labor (12 months / 12,000 miles is common, some offer more), and whether it can provide a loaner or a shuttle. Check the listing for hours, the makes the shop works on and its Google rating, then call ahead, since walk-in capacity is limited at smaller shops.

Hours are published for 7 days a week. The most common schedule is 8 am–6:30 pm. Hours in the United States do change around federal holidays and long weekends, so a quick call before a special trip is sensible. The listed phone number is (203) 891-7923. Many businesses also reply to text messages on the same number if it is a cell phone.

Its Google rating is 4.2 out of 5 from 126 reviews, a solid but mixed picture; reading the most recent reviews will tell you what to expect.

New Haven is in Connecticut, in the Northeast, where four distinct seasons shape local life: hot humid summers, snowy winters that can close businesses for a day, and a dense pattern of towns where walking, transit and street parking all matter. US addresses list the street number and name, then the city, state abbreviation and ZIP code, and New Haven follows the same pattern; a suite or apartment number such as Ste 200 refers to a unit inside the building. The map link on this page shows the exact spot.

I had an oil change done at Foxon Lube & Tire and immediately after leaving, my car started leaking oil something it was NOT doing before. When I brought it to their attention, I was told the drain plug/threads were “already stripped” and that it’s a “wear and tear” issue. However, this shop has serviced my car multiple times and even installed the current bolt themselves in the past. Despite that, they continued to work on the vehicle and returned it to me in worse condition. Instead of taking responsibility, I was told to go somewhere else for a fix and then quoted $650 for a new oil pan completely out of pocket. A professional shop should not perform an oil change and send a customer away with an active oil leak. If there was a pre-existing issue, it should have been clearly communicated and properly addressed not ignored until it became a bigger problem. Very disappointed in how this was handled. I recommend going somewhere that stands behind their work.

I was going to this place regularly for my oil changes. I decided to have my brakes done from them since I had been going there for quite some time for my oil changes. It has been only five months and I am already having trouble with my brakes. I paid over $800 for my brakes to be replaced. I am very disappointed with the service I received for the brakes. I went back to let them know I was having trouble with the brakes again. They told me to come back the next day and I will have to pay an additional $160. New brakes should last years not only months. I do not recommend going to this place for other than a QUICK Oil Change.

Apparently this places does not want our business. I got a flat tire on I-91 and this shop was right by the exit we took off the freeway. I called them and the guy said they have to see if they can get a replacement and would call me back in 10-15 minutes. Well, I waited almost an hour and decided to call them back. Same guy said “we got busy, so let me call the warehouse now” and put me on hold. He confirmed they have the tire size at the warehouse and should have it at the shop the next day between 10 and 10:30am, but they would call me when it gets there. It is now the next day and I called them at 10:55am just to check, and the same guy said the tire hasn’t shown up yet, but would call me back in 5 minutes. Well guess what, it is 11:45am and they didn’t call me back. I am used to unprofessional service, but this one is very disappointed because we wasted an entire afternoon and morning on this shop. Management really needs to train their employees better to set proper expectations.

I needed a starter for my car and the guy kept saying the company who sent the starter from bridgeport kept sending the wrong one and the only way he could find out if it's the wrong one is only when he took it out to put it on my car had me loose money from work this took over 5 days and I still don't have a new starter. Possibly without a job come Monday and he tells me I need to be understanding when I have been since Tuesday and it's now Saturday. I still don't have a starter and he tells me when I'm upset to come get my car and that he is done talking to me and he is busy and Hung up on me. When I was trying to ask where can we get the correct starter from. He makes promises and does not keep them. Poor service. Don't come here and it's over priced.

All services they checked off on the receipt weren’t done, several lights came on. Windshield fluid, tire light, and engine light due to using the wrong oil in my vehicle.
